| Yesterday while out shopping I stopped by AC Moore's and picked up an unfinished birdhouse. This picture above is the end result. I think it will look cute in my country themed living room, although I don't have a home for it yet. It's got three of my five accent colors, so it should work nicely. | |

| And here's a pair of wall sconces I made. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the insides of the star light blue, or paint them the same gold that I used for the birdhouse. I almost feel like right now they're a little monochromatic. Opinions, anyone? Either way, they'll still be outlined with the slightly darker slate blue. Anywho, I decided to continue on with the "star" theme, since it can apply to any season, and it's a pretty common element in country decor. Plus, barn stars freak Niel out, so I figured I could have a little fun with him . | |

| Yeah, when we first moved up here, EVERYONE had them. He kept asking, "What does it mean? Is everybody in some sort of cult we don't know about?" I tried to tell him they were just country decor and since we live in the country, it was fitting. Then I actually looked them up and found out that historically, barn builders would put their own signature star on barns they built to "advertise" their work. Niel finds life more interesting if he continues believing that they represent some sort of cult, so that's what he does. | |
