The garden has gone nuts around here already!

I've got cucumbers sitting on the counter that I HAVE to do something with..I guess I'll be trying my hand at pickles some time this weekend.

I've already given away a few squashes to Frank and his family..(as well as some cucs).
And believe it or not..I've got something in the garden that I DID NOT PLANT!

I planted squash in a certain area of the garden..yellow, zuchinni and acorn. We had a few 'acorns' seem to come up on their own from LAST years plantings that never came out..well I THOUGHT they were acorns. BUT..it appears it may be watermelon! I DIDN"T PLANT WATERMELON! Not even last year! WTH??

Seriously...it's the strangest thing!

I'm heading to the garden this morning to do some weeding and such, and I'll try to get a picture on the blog about it this afternoon. So take a look when you get a chance and tell me..is that not a watermelon?
and if it is..I wanna know how it got in my garden! (and all the seeds I did plant..we NOT watermelon seeds..they were squash seeds!)

It's possible someone was eating watermelon and spit the seeds in the yard. I don't know. Stranger things have happened.

Glad to hear your garden is doing so well. I wish mine would get going. All I've got right now is lettuce!

It was all me... I telepathically planted watermelons seeds. They're SO expensive up here it's CRAZY! you'd think bananas and watermelons were made of gold. but it's just not summer without a watermelon Smile

LOL Well geeze... I dunno what to tell you I LOVE watermelon. Could eat it for a week straight! lol
The girls love it too but then again they eat their vegetables and always make room for fruit as dessert... damn healthy eating habits lol

At least there's only 2 could be an entire garden full...
