Well, here's what I found out...of course I went to the interview. It was not an interview with one person, it was an interview with a 'panel' of LOTS..there were 9 people asking me questions, all lined up at a big table..(reminded me of a sit down fireing squad!)
Each person was the 'head' of his or her group..and most of the different divisions of the Sheriff's department were represented. They asked me a good many questions. I THINK I did ok....at least a 50/50!
I did find out after the fact there are over 30 people applying for these 2 dispatcher positions. WOW..
They could not tell me when they would make the final decision nor when the position would start. I did ask a few questions though and training is a 6 month process...WOW. Shifts are 12 hours (that's a lot..but I'll deal if I get the position). There were a few more minor questions I asked..but none too important.
I'm hoping to find out something soon, but alas..they have no clue when they will finish with the interviews. Now..it's a wait and see game.
